Just the fluid/filter is 80$ so I figured another 40$ for the tool wasn't bad and I don't have to make it. That is unless you have a better source for fluid/filter and a DIY tool...I'm all for making my own if it's more cost effective...

Wait. Are all Golf Sportwagen's DSG? I thought I just had a basic ass automatic in my 2016. I guess I always thought the DSG was more like a clutchless manual. Proves what I know.

And it sure drives like a basic ass automatic, even in sport or "manual" mode.

I've got the gasser, it's kinda unfortunate as it's slow and really doesn't get that great fuel economy (avg 30mpg over 9k miles). But I've been pleasantly surprised with the build quality. And relative bang for buck.

edit: maybe TDI had DSG and TSI had traditional automatic?

TDI has DSG or 6 speed manual options. TSI has an auto or 5 speed manual option.

And I'll add, I've averaged about 37 mpg over 40K miles, with 70% of that being city driving, and lots of idling while stationary to run work equipment.

The absolute worst tank I've ever had 27mpg, and that was this past January, on winter blend, when it was fricken cold, and I pretty much did not shut the car off at all during my work day

My week to week right now is 42average, I had 2 tanks that gave 35 this winter so my average is pulling down slightly. City/hwy/traffic mix like normal minneapolis folks

Its called "road trip", its red and has a fuel pump as its icon. I have all my vehicles on it, easy place to keep records and mile/date info for Oil changes and tire rotation. Mostly its for fuel tracking.

That is why I always at least consider VW when shopping for a car. Their gas cars do not get great mileage compared to other cars of similar size. But when you drive a VW, you can feel that they are put together better. And the interiors are of a higher quality as well.

This is why I'm not too worried about resale of our TDI in a few years or whatever when we need to sell it.

Gun control is like trying to reduce drunk driving by making it tougher for sober people to own cars.
