    Pre-runner suspension kits, fender flares, rwd, motor swaps, parts are cheap... that's what I'm thinking anyway

    Pretty much. Putting a 5.0 from the same era explorer is literally bolt in.

    Cheap to buy and cheap to repair. Don't seem to rust as badly/quickly as S10's.

    $2k which with only 100k miles was a pretty good deal. With these trucks after 10 years, total miles has way more of an effect than the year.

    While it's not super fast, my 3L is pretty peppy, although now I'd probably trade off the couple mpg loss and get a 4L. Also from everything I've read, stay away from an auto 4cyl.
