    Default 200k miles!

200k miles (I bought it with about 49k on the clock), about $12,000 in fuel, 4 wheel bearings, two door wiring harnesses (front driver, front passenger), one set of brakes, stage 1.5 tune, two timing belts (one every 100k miles), paint shop three times (initially totaled upon purchase, rock damage in Utah, tree fell on it one year), one roof rack, couple sets of tires (winter and summer), I've done 15 oil changes (every 10k miles), some light bulbs now and then, a coolant heater for winter, a fumoto valve for draining oil, and probably some other things I'm forgetting... Best tank of fuel was 711 miles at about 51mpg (White Bear Lake, to Escanaba, back to Forest Lake), worst tank was about 32 mpg (cruising at 80+ mph, against the wind, to Utah with a cargo box on the roof), in total averaging about 42mpg since I've bought it (with a large excel sheet to go along with it). Lots and lots of memories in this car! Many more to come! It has been the best vehicle I've ever owned!

Car as I first acquired it with about 49k miles:

Nope, mine is a 2006 BRM; not included in the recall.

Yessir, just hit 200k miles this morning on the way to work. Drove it around the block a few times near my work to get to 200k before I parked haha! Saw Stu's miata parked near his workplace.

Perfect-looking camshaft too. Just goes to show that if you put good oil in your PD camshaft wear isn't an issue.

    Nice work kriesel.

I have been driving the Miata! Lots of marginal weather miles with the top down at the end of the year FTW!!!1

Glad to hear youve been rather trouble free. You do good work and take good care of it, most people dont and complain about "diesel problems". I just clocked 120K this week, bought with 85K, and see 200K in my future. Besides the "intake flap" motor on mine I have had zero issues as well, just a $25 part and 10min of effort to clear it up.

Oh I forgot I've had to do the intake flapper too! And I put in the stage 2 clutch and smf. But really the car has never had me stranded or anything weird...

I was hoping to 1 day bring my TDI to 200K, but it looks like I will be selling it back to VW @ 40K

Very nice! When our 2010 TDI was totaled back in January we had 199k on it, was REALLY hoping to hit 200 but just didn't quite pan out!

Really was a great car, but we have a 2013 Passat TDI now - it's MUCH nicer.

Reminds me I need to finish the paperwork for the payout we are due. Still need to get them paperwork for the "sale" of the Jetta and the registration of the Passat.

Can't find either one of them, so going to have to start making some phone calls I think.
