Default Chumpcar 2013 - Who here is in?

I just finished my 2013 Chumpcar build ('94 BMW 325i)

Who else here is racing Chumpcar this year?

I didn't start one. I was kinda lax about taking pictures during the build. The only build photo I have is of the roll cage dash bar, which worked out great. I was able to retain the factory defroster.

Sounds like you need to rethink your priorities

I had to work on passing my Series 7 Securities Licensing Exam (which I passed today!) so I will hopefully be out at them and behind the wheel soon!

Cheap - Although I need to look into the fire rating date to see if it's still valid or if it can be renewed, etc.

Fits me about right I'm 190-200lbs and 5'11". Size large helmet.

If the fire rating works out, consider me interested. You just described my body type.

My team is on 3rd season right now, good to see another team from eurowerks. You will have to find us at BIR for some beers. I have a suit (With the correct rating) that would fit you that I would sell for the dirt. 2 piece with long johns from last season. Still fine, I just upgraded this year.

On a side note, I thought you couldn't take the dash out (because of the weight savings) on an e36? Do to the extra rules this year specific to the e36.

I am so ready to race. Especially since I just found out last night that we have to rebuild an engine 2 weeks before the race... AGAIN!!!!!! Look forward to fighting with you in turn 12 and 3 ( I like to brake late)

That picture was taken before I put the dash back in. It was taken to show how the dash bar was run under the dash. I have the dash back in, that's why my factory defrosters still work

I have seen other E36 teams with the dash removed that didn't get penalty laps, so I don't know exactly what the ruling is. They say 'strip the interior' and that could be interpreted as removing the dash as well. I'm leaving mine in anyway.

I don't take chances on dive-bombing people into 3 and 12. I don't trust the other driver's (or myself) enough to take chances in a 7 hour race, especially since it's my car. I can't speak for the other guys on my team, though

I know what you mean. I break late not dive bomb, there is definitely a difference. Although I was guilty of dive bombing my first ever chumpcar race, end result was 4 expensive tires with flat spot in them. Luckily I didnt hit or get hit by anyone.
