Default my other vw is a jeep?

well, that jetta died on me. sold it to a fellow dubber who is fixing it up to for his son to use as his first car. long story short, I bought a jeep top replace it, but just because it's a jeep doesnt mean it cannot be euro at heart. just wait folks, I have big plans for this beast that are actually going to be caried out this time. may take a long time to get there due to my upcoming deployment, but that means I will have the money to execute....and to buy a brand new dub. pics will be on later today.

thats why I grabbed this one. I was cruising CL for a dub and this came up because the guy was selling it to buy a bug body for a trike he is building.

    specs: 2.5l i4 (chrysler powertec 150), ax-4 4 speed manual trans, dana 35 rear axle (2wd).

future plans in the order I want them to happen: repair floor pan rust, weld in 2x4 1/4" wall tube steel rockers channels to replace the non-existant ones, replace trans with ax-5 5 speed man., install front axle for 4wd, lift about 4.5", bigger tires (thinkin about 20's). far future plans....I am sure plenty of you have seen the hp amotorsports tdi wrangler, well that was a 91 and this is a 91, many of the same mechanical parts...heck it was even the ax4 trans in that thing. so yes, I am already talking to hpa about a conversion for the comanche.

I'm gonna start on rocker channel repair after I get the clutch slave cylinder replaced this week, went out on me two weeks ago and finally found a decently priced replacement. unfortunetly this transmission has an internal slave/throw-out bearing (single assembly) which means I have to drop the entire trans just to fix it.

I got the clutch and slave cylinder replaced a few weeks ago (actually the day before we finally got that first snow) runs grand. Now it just needs some tires. I'm going 235/75/r15 until I can afford the 4.5" lift.

weird, another "sportruck" sticker, I figured only VW would have made that mistake.
