Default Eurowerks drives - general info

Here is a quick summary of the drives we at Eurowerks will be putting together. More specific information will be put below. Discussion aout the drive can be in an individual thread.

    Spring drive
All Eurowerks members are invited to go on the spring drive, regardless of signup date. The MAXIMUM number of cars will be 24, as long as we have 3 additional lead cars. The spring drive will take the Stillwater loop, which is quite a bit smaller then the other loops, and much more laid back. Drive date is May 26th.

    Summer drive
The summer drive will be limited to members that have been a part of Eurowerks for two seasons. The maximum number of cars will be limited to 24, as long as we have 3 additional lead cars. This is a more aggressive set of roads.

    Fall drive
The fall drive will be limited to those that have been on 3 or more drives with us. And been a member for 3 or more seasons. Will do as many run groups of 4 cars (including the lead car) as we can, i expect about 10-12 cars) This is on the same set of raods as the summer drive, but the pace will be quicker due to the small run groups.

    Rules

Unfortunately we do need to have some sort of rules. Last year we told everyone that the car HAD to have sport suspension and GOOD tires.

I still would like to see every car have good tires, but aftermarket suspension is not needed in every instance. (i.e. M-coupes, M3's, Porsches, Ferarris, Lamborghinis)

Rest assured, do not plan on bringing your car if you have cut springs and stock struts. You know who you are We just don't want to see anyone die here.

Remember the rules of the road, even if you do not follow them, meaning don't pass on a double yellow going up hill around a blind corner, with "caution deaf child" signs everywhere. Speeding may happen, just don't be careless.

Do not tailgate the driver in front of you, even if you want to go faster. I'd like to keep passing to a minimum, not saying it's way wrong, but if you find you're going much faster than the guy in front of you, back away from him a lot on the straights and catch up in the turns.

If there is a large turnout we will split into run groups with min. 20 minutes between us, no exceptions. It's dumb when you're doing a drive and run into the run group in front of you, totally spoils it.

Run groups will be made by putting faster cars in one group, and quick cars in another. With the fastest cars of each group bringing up the tail (because of the whiplash effect)

Please remember that this is not a race and we don't need to prove anything to our fellow drivers. We just want to have a nice spirited drive through the countryside.

    In case of an emergency

in the event that something DOES happen, which it better not, one car (preferably someone with something other than the type of car in trouble) will stop to make sure everyones ok, if everyone is good then the stopped car will leave and meet back up with the group while the troubled car will seek help for themselves, if they don't have a cell we can work something out.

If every occupant of the troubled (wrecked) car is not capable of calling for help we will leave one other person with them.

please bring a walkie talkie along if you have one, if you have several bring them along, and label them so people know to return them to you afterwards.

Eurowerks does not accept responsibility if you wreck your car, drive at a pace you feel safe at.

    Spring drive:

The spring drive will be held on May 26th. Plan to meet in Woodbury at 11:00a.m. with a half tank of gas. The exact meeting point is to be decided. Don\'t be hungry but don\'t be full.

The route we will be driving will take us north of Stillwater.

After the drive we will be going to a late lunch or early dinner at Luna Rossa, the same place we went last year, meals are $7-$8/plate, location and atmosphere is great.

After food I\'m sure a few of us will be coming back to our place in Edina for a car wash GTG, then traveling down to University.

In case of rain we will reschedule for the next weekend.
