Yes. Fucking Yes. This spring will be my first year in the driver seat competitively, running in the MAC events (and whatever else I can find this summer locally). Can there be a sticky about upcoming events from many local clubs; LOL MAC SCCA BIR etc. That would help out most of us who are just starting.

Does autocross fall into this forum?

I plan on attending all of the MAC events this season, and *maybe* getting into some rallycross.

Generally speaking, anything that is done in a vehicle in a competitive nature would be considered motorsports.

I would assume that is the case here as well.

I totally believed that for awhile too...

But is up there with running in regards to the amount of endurance and stress it puts on your body.

Hell, last year a guy had cardiac arrest and died at 24 hours of lemons.

Take the newbie school (MAC). I HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend it. AWESOME instruction and you get a boatload of seat time (with instructors!). First day in classroom is so-so (it's not bad if you don't know much about how to drive "the line") - but the second day full of driving is incredible.

And don't chicken out if it's crappy weather.

You can find stats and news for motorsports in the Sports section of newspapers, TV and websites. Are you saying the rest of the world has it wrong and only you are correct?

Gun control is like trying to reduce drunk driving by making it tougher for sober people to own cars.

I was just kidding... I like telling bowlers and golfers that their respective past-times are not sports as well.

Well golfing isn't a sport. It's a walk in the park with another man. Made ok, only when beer is present.
