I have looked through a few of the classifieds and didn't see much. So I am just seeing if anyone has some aftermarket parts for my car that has not posted them up. Not looking at anything particular. Just looking to start it off with a few boltons or body modifications.

You should check the vwvortex classifieds, if you haven't already. There are alot of great deals on there

wow Iphone FTL. I miss typed soo much shit. With a VR6 the only "bolt on's" that there really are is intake, exhaust and a chip. From there you need to start tearing into the motor.

I would start with coilovers. And I know you are coming from a GM background so take all of that and never apply it in modding to a VW. I know several guys who own GM and made the jump to VW and their cars look like ass and run like shit because they modded them the same way they did with the F-body's.

Get this, it'll add a great look to your car and is a good deal.

I suggest going with coilovers, catback exhaust, chip, intake <- in that order. As SLK said, since you have a vr6, you're modding options are limited unless you go big and do a supercharger or turbo setup.

Otherwise, style it a bit, add your own taste with little exterior and interior mods and make it look clean! Maybe some rub strips?

At the shop here, we make a 6speed short shifter that is installed for around $60. A little shorter than the R32 shifter and a hundred cheaper than the Nuespeed or others short shifters. Also we have the lower dogbone mount(heavy duty)for $20 plus $10 to install.

For under a hundo you could shorten the shift and tighten up the loose motor.

Seeing as you just got into the VW scene... I will throw in a free set of our new valve stem caps with purchase of the above.

No pics, sorry. It's the OEM front lip from the 1.8T GLI. I painted it textured black so I could run it with the textured rear valance. It's used, but it's in great shape, just some pretty minor scuffs on the underside like every other GLI/20th lip on the planet.

If I were you, don't pass up that deal from chad, you'll enjoy the new small mods and it's a hell of a deal.

And for reference on the GLI lip, here's a pic of one so you know what it looks like...

hmmmm... maybe come spring and its warmer i will swing by and have one installed. Since i didnt put redline in my trans this winter, the last thing i want when i come out to a frozen car is a frozen transmission with an even shorter throw to free things up...

i c. well, lower that bish.

No, don't. Not if you want it to handle well.

If you want suspension modding advice, shoot me an IM.

As for parts, all I have left from my GLI-1.8T part out is some wheels (well, I do have some springs, too, but they are not correct for your VR6).

I'm with Brian. Don't go low just because everyone thinks a slammed car looks cool. Do a real assessment of what you want the car to be able to do when your done modifying it and then go from there. If you are thinking you want the car to handle like a go kart the first step in the wrong direction is to lower it. VW got it all wrong when it comes to lowering so if you go this route know that it's for looks and NOT for performance. On the flipside if all you are looking for is the show aspect then by all means lower away.

I just want a little bit of a drop in order to get rid of some of the wheel gap, pictures really dont do it justice as it seems to not have it that bad in person. I would like it just for looks because this car IS going to be my daily driver. I would like a lower that doesn't effect handling to a great extent. I have been PM'ing Briang about this and he has showed me a few setups I am going to have to look into.

Good you are taking some of his advice. Brian and I tend to agree on a lot of these issues so I know he's not going to lead you astray. Out of curiosity which way is he leading you? Neuspeed Sofsports? H&R OESport? If not forgot everything I just said as he doesn't know what the hell he's talking about! :PJK

He thinks that Neuspeed will be the best for what I want. He did mention H&R as well.
