View Full Version : WTB: Z4 Grills (set)

I want black grills for the Z4 and I'll be damned if I have to pay $70+ for new ones on eBay. It's a leased car after all. Figured I'd get used ones, paint them black, install. Come return time, I'll replace the stock ones and Motorwerks won't penalize me.

Not that anybody here has them just laying around, but you know of any:thumbup:

Any year Z4 works, the pre and post update Z4s have the same PN's for the grills.

See if you can put that money towards a dishwasher.

Aint my dishwasher, and the Z4 is (legally) mine. Dishwasher status is up to my old man. I make a remark to him last night and he said "Well, dishwashers are about $800, and I have bills to pay and children who've decided they want to eat."

euro-dyne has them (not on their website though) and they are usually one of the cheapest places for stuff like that.

I'm pretty sure I like that idea a lot.

Thanks!

Yeah, I swapped mine out for matte black last summer since it was the only piece of chrome on the car. My advice: DO IT.

Emailed EruoDyne. So we'll see what kind of prices they can give me.

Edit: Yeah, I love the blackout. I've had black Hamann grilles on my E36 twice now, I put them on, then took them off, put them back on and had my accident, now they're off. But the car defs looks better with them on.

why wouldn't you just paint them?

why wouldn't you just paint them?

Here's why most guys just buy them
1. you gotta buy paint (takes $)
2. you gotta scuff up the existing ones with sandpaper (takes time & sandpaper)
3. you gotta be able to paint without making runs, etc. (takes skillz)
4. You gotta repeat steps 1 through 3 every year to get rid of rock chips in the paint (more $, more time and more skillz)

Mine cost $50 including shipping and the color will never chip or peel.

I think it's leased, also...

You are correct.

I'm not gonna just paint the current ones, because Motorwerks might have a hissy fit when they take the car back. I fear I'd get penalized and pay for the cost of replacing them and paying a tech .4 hours of labor time:jerkit:

What? I can't hear you due to air hoses and buffers destroying my ears.
