So i wouldn't have to purchase anything else in order for these springs to work with my
08 gli?

slobuny

I've herd on vwvortex that it would eventually ruin my suspension if i ran the coils on the stock struts. Is this true?

Digital K
11-05-2008, 04:08 PM
yes. Eventually.

My god.

Just buy the damn things.

If these said MkIV h&r race, they would have been gone before they were for sale.

your stock struts will fail eventually anyway. then it's time for an upgrade

Yea, sorry about this. I've just been looking into what other options i have, and i think that i'll pass on the coils for now. I dont want to run them on my stock struts, and i dont have enough money to buy some decent aftermarket struts either. Thanks for your help, and thanks for answering all of my questions.

They are going to be shot at some point anyways. Its not like you'll install them and they'll be shot a week later, I have 20K miles on mine with my springs and they are fine

Yea, but i dont want to risk it. Everyone i have talked to also says that the car handles like crap when its on stock struts

Toftii88
11-05-2008, 08:10 PM
wrong, u haz race car? no? you wont notice unless your struts are already blown

I drove the shit out of nathans car on the drive on race springs and stock struts. it handled phenomenally.

get the springs, put them on the car. if you dont like how it rides, you can get some struts later. its a cost effective way to move slowly in progressing your suspension upgrade.

Ask Kris how the car performs on stock struts ;)

Cliff Notes:

He beat the piss out of the car on the summer drive and it was happy.

Edit:
haha, great minds think alike
