There has always been the term "americans love their cars" well do they really? For example yesterday I was in the car wash and I washing my car which took about 20-30 minutes. I was using a bucket and a wash mit then some lady in a lexus drives into the next bay she does the typical soapy spray and the water rinse and then doesnt bother with the brake dust on the wheels and just drives off without drying the car!
I see this offense all the time these people that act like they care so much about their cars but they dont even know about the big scratch that is on the passenger side because they dont bother getting out and walking to the other side. Also taking your car through an automatic wash and not even bother to clean the wheels, which most people do is a felony in my book.
We park our cars out in the middle of the parking lot and walk a little futher than others. Regular people jam their shit in as far close to the enterance of where they are putting their doors in risk and everything else. Most people dont even take care of their car and make fun of others that do. So why pay 45-50k for an suv that you are just gonna wreck and abuse when you can just get a mercedes for the same price? Cuz getting a ML vs a Yukon is snobby ironically.
Americans dont love their cars they dont even know anything about their cars besides the fact that its their car and they dont want anything to happen to it but the occasional door bang into the car next to theirs and a bumper scuff from rear ending it into another car is no big deal. The part about the wheels where you can write your name in brake dust is also not that big of a deal. If they get a rock chip they might just hope it doesnt continure to crack and wont bother calling their insurance to get it fixed.
Yes Im calling you out america if you can tell me what engine is in your car and can tell me how much torque you have, then you are one step closer in a positive direction on fulling the term that americans love their cars.
