Default FS: 1969 VW Beetle - FULLY restored!

Posting this for my dad -

1969 VW Beetle restored just 3 years ago and only driven 3000 summer miles since.
    Very clean example!
1969 IRS chassis was fully restored with a rebuilt 1835 cc engine.
Engine has dual Kadron carbs, runs strong, starts right away and is reliable.
I drove this car daily for several summer months.
It does have a few small surface rust bubbles under the paint near the corners of the windows. Nothing major and should be able to be taken care of very easily.
Not driven in winter - currently in storage.
I have too many other projects and need the space.

    $5500 OBO

Oh my God John.... and it is Purple... I know someone who would be very interested.... I will see if Tracy wants it.

She has a Purple bug that is not running and needs way too much work to be worth it.... this might be a nice ride for her.

Its peppy for a bug - quick, short-ratio tranny that makes it a lot of fun to click through the gears in city driving. It will cruise at 70mph pretty well but I have never driven it at 70 for more than 10-15 miles (in one stretch).

It keeps up with traffic very well and will not get in the way . Thats the best way I can put it. It also gets A LOT of looks... I have talked to several people at stop lights and it gets honked at all the time!

It's definitely a fun little car. If I could, I would buy it from my dad. I've taken it out on a cool summer night, thrown the roof open and cruised around just for the hell of it several times.

For the record - the car had 1200 miles on it when we picked it up. I drove it for a whole summer without any problems.

    Only $5500!?!?!?!?!?!?!

Curse me for only having a 2 car garage.

Edit: I had an 1835cc with dual webbers in my Bug. It had some go if you stomped on it. VERY fun car and I really miss mine. I had a 1963.

Yep - thats Eurowerks price .

It's posted for $6500 on The Samba.

We figured that it is a pretty fair price but still accepting offers

There is an older Bug with a soft top in much worse shape on Craigslist for about the same price to give you an idea how well this is priced.

$5000 restored Bug > $5000 Bug that needs TLC every time.
