Default Midwest Euro DVD this year

    Hi guys and gals.

I'm in the planning process of getting a Midwest Euro car video made this year. I'm hoping to showcase some of the nice cars around here and also showcase the scene here for the whole country/world to see. It will not be oriented towards one club, I want it to feature the whole scene.

I'm planning on shooting this in HD and will feature some HD clips online, but then release everything on one DVD. I may do a Blu-ray version depending on how accessible the technology is and if people are interested.

I'm going to focus on VW's (hoping to get one from each watercooled gen as individual features), but there will also be a section for BMWs, Saabs, etc. I'd like to shoot feature cars one at a time, and will also be at the shows this summer filming as well as on some drives.

So, I guess the point of this post is to let you guys know that this is going to happen this year, and to put a feeler out for feature cars and people to interview. If you are interested in helping or having your car featured, please contact me!

    Matt

If you need some cd label action done, let me know.

Sounds like a wicked idea and hopefully it works out nicely

I might. I'm going to treat each car/section as it's own video with unique personality. I was planning on picking songs that fit with the car and style of shooting. I am into all kinds of music, underground hip-hop, electronic, drum and bass, classical, alt-rock, punk you name it.

I would not be opposed to original local music if it's on par with the quality of the rest of the production...

I'm open at this point. I am talking with Jonny to see about the company that those guys used last year.

I'm saying that I could put a mix of anything together rather than just a song ending abruptly, and the next one starting abrubtly ... I could also help with music choice, contrary to popular belief, I'm not all oonze'd out.

So are you one of them oontz oontz DJ types?

I'm not sure what the flow of the whole thing will be yet, but a sound mix would be much nicer than fades/cuts indeed.

    Very cool idea.

I know my way around a camera, final cut pro, etc. pretty well. I had a lot of experience through high school with a few film classes and shooting film for skiing.

Let me know if you need anything - I would be glad to help!

It would be great to pick your brain/have some help with Final Cut. I'm just getting acquainted with it...

I always like to see carclub videos and picture slide shows. It's cool to see a well-made video that features great cars in a part of the country I live in and know as well as car owners I might know.

My point is you see tons of car club videos and sure they have nice cars in them, but 90% of them are shot in socal. Lets get some other scenery involved.
