Must've not got the memo
Danny Tanner named his car Walter...
Ok, so now I feel stupid for naming my car a guy name. I guess I can still change it.
Anyway, I'll be dropping the engine. I pulled the bolt for the pass side mount, and I can't get the bolt back in, because the mount is torn and f'd up. I know, I can change it without dropping the engine. Plus the clutch is slipping. Plus I want to clean the hell out of everything and paint the motor mount brackets, block, etc. Is it worth it for dropping the engine for all I want to do?
Also, I think the car was repainted at some point. I'm not totally sure, but I'm finding what appears to be a green or tan hidden under some stuff.

Can't wear skinny jeans cuz my knots don't fit
I never understood the naming of vehicles. I just call my GTI the 'black car' or the 'GTI', the Jeep is 'The Jeep', though I do have a Dodge Dakota that I call 'The Dak'.
nice progress ham! haha @ the boys name, lol. everyone makes mistakes. are you gonna give the stock springs a trim or just wait to get te H&R's? cant wait to see it at the show(if its finished by then).
anyone have new name suggestions?
Progress tonight, sorry, no pic.
I'd be a lot further on it, but I had to go to school today for a boring ass ACT prep class my parents made me go to, I barely got anything out of it, it was from 8-3:30. Damn, I didn't really want to go back to school after a long boring week.
Anyway, the engine is almost out. I broke my triple square bit on the last set of cv axles I pulled, so I was using a vise grip to get the bolts out. Worked well at first, but after time some of the teeth got a little rounded, not very much, but not enough to bite into the the bolt heads. Maybe I'll try pounding a 12 point socket over the bolts. I have 5 left on the DS axle. The pass axle is disconnected. I pulled the manifolds, as they looked like they'd make it a bigger pain to get the engine out (I didn't want to have to actually take out the axles, I still want to roll the car, and it looked like I'd have to pull the pass axle and the manifolds would still probably hit stuff on their way out). Got the last bits of wiring disconnected. I still have to take out the speedometer cable. Then unbolt the mounts, and lower it down with ratchet straps onto a dolly, put it sideways, and drag it out.
Also, the exhaust manifold is putting up a little bit of a fight- the last nut that I tried to remove on the bottom side stripped out (the head did). Not a real big shock to me, it was one of the only ones I didn't hit with kroil. I sprayed kroil at it, and am letting it sit overnight. Kroil rocks.
Pics tomorrow, when the engine is out. I will clean this engine like crazy, probably paint my trans, or clean it well.
My car doesn't have a person name.
People refer to it as the "Volvo", "Pimp mobile" and the "Shaggin Wagon"
My friends I raced call it the "Sleeper"
eek! I thought the rust on my fender was bad.
