Run straight pipes! You could maybe get away with it when the turbo's bolted on...

actually, when the turbo is on, I'll probably run 2 straight through resonators and 2" pipe to the back. If I ever get around to it, I'll do maybe 2.25 with one resonator, or just a straightpipe. I'd imagine that turbo kills noise a bit.

I'm surprised at how quiet the diesel is with an open manifold. Imagine what a honda or something would sound like with an open manifold. I'd imagine valve timing, port shape, it being a diesel, etc, are all factors in the lower loud noise, versus the high pitch bee noise of a honda.

damn I can't wait to drive it on the street. I also need to replace injectors and get new flexible brake lines. They are super sketchy, mega cracked, and I can see the core part in them. Stainless braided ones on the way tomorrow.

Should I add a duckbill, or not? I was going to push in the bumper.

frick, it might not be at the show. I'm not going to drive down on bald weather checked tires. And I really don't want to drive down on my cut springs (they're super soft and I bottom out on bumps extremely often...too often). I need to source some tires within a week, and refuse to waste my money on some crappy no name all seasons.

If I end up not driving it, I'll just park the pimp wagen shamefully on a side street.

yeah. they look like ass, though.

I just don't trust the suspension, 1 rear strut is blown, the front springs are mega cut down and really soft, my alignment is probably way off, my strut bearings are toast.

Hot or not? half polished teardrops. I plan on painting the indentations the green of the engine or brown of the trans.

^^x2. how many sets of teardrops do you have? once you get the money, if it were me i'd get some toyo T1R's in 195/45/15.

oh, and i'd paint the indentations in body color.

Those wheels look nice, Ham. I'm as plain as can be with my Avus 'snowflakes' but they serve me well. You gotta be at the show and help me represent the MK1 diesel.

that looks good, and the tire size is fine at your current ride height. if you get tiny tires w/out being much lower it will look poor.
