    Default 16v rabbit swap question?

I am trying to sort out a mess of a 1.8 16v swap the previous owner thought he could cut the connectors off the 16v harness and connect them to the 8v harness
So my question is i have an intact 2.0 16v harness and ecu can i adapt that harness to run the 1.8 16v and i will be swapping manifolds and fuel dist is there anything else i will have to use to swap to the motronic setup

Are these the two gti's from Lindstrom that you have? If so, how nice is the body of the gti from AZ?
Sorry I can't be much help with your question. I do know that the motronic computur will be looking for inputs from sensors that you don't have on your current 16v setup. Whether or not the car will still run without these inputs, I don't know. I guess from what I have been told, motronic and CIS are two different animals, and even though they look the same they operate on two different levels. But I personally have no experience in mixing the two, so I would get a second opinion.

I think you'll need a motronic fuel distributor, throttle body and ISV setup. if the motor if from a scirocco you'll need a 2.0 intake manifold as well. thats all i can think of off the top of my head.

Kris is right. If I were you, yank all of the 1.8 16v stuff (KE-jetronic) and swap in the (hopefully) un-cut 2.0 16v (motronic) harness incl fusebox if you can. What manifold you use depends on where you want the airbox to reside.
