Default so, another rare find/ winter project..

so, since i saw posted up his find, i figured i would do the same. long story short, a pals uncle has this sitting at his place, and has agreed to sell it to us for a project. i wont get into price, but by far the best find i have seen in a long time. the truck is all original, right down to the interior, and its crappy dealer installed leather seat covers. has 100k on it, and all service records to go with it, and was even bought new by him from burnsville vw way back when. cranks, but doesnt run. and after speaking with him, i know its fueling related. so a little work to get her running, and it even has a spare 1.8 out of his 82 caddy he totalled before buying this one. his only deal was that it went to someone who would love it like he did, and that he gets to take it for drive when we finish it

but anyhow, to the picks. cant wait to get it into the garage next to the golf....

so, time for a little old school. maybe i am jumping on the bandwagon, but damn if i care. this thing is too nice not to do it up right

yeah... honestly, driving non GTI stock MK1's is pretty boring. The Caddy looks clean man, can you divulge your plans??

And when you say "sell it to us for a project" who is us?

Sorry. It's just my worthless opinion, but I'm getting sick of the typical really lowered/round headlights/euro bumpers/shit paint. I saw an absolutely beautiful mk1 jettta, on the tex, restored. Was awesome.

I'll shut up now, for some reason, for the last couple weeks, all I've really liked/loved are totally stock cars. I guess I'm a pretty boring person. I'll be back to normal in a couple more weeks.

Hopefully the steering wheel is the first thing to go . Nice find, looks to be a fun project. With the topper, you would even be able to sleep in it!

this isnt going to be a rat, by any means. slammed on its nuts, more then likely. but i am not one to follow anything thats going on in the mk1 scene. i havent even ever looked at those forums to be honest. the paint is mint other then one spot of clear peeling. granted, i need to get it into the garage for a better inspection. but i dont plan on trying to make it look ratted out. if anything, maybe go all era specific mods, build the other spare motor. but at the same time, try and keep it budget minded..

as for the "we" in the deal. my pal wills uncle is the owner of the car. and will is a mini truck/ hotrod/ bike builder. he is in the process of doing a bag and body drop on his s-10 at his place, and was also looking for something different then the norm. so the influence is all over the map. so we will see what we come up with. not looking for a speed racer, more a knuckle dragger if anything.
