I keep my eyes out for them.

around what does he want for it? I'm guessing it's more than I want to spend, to be honest. It does look nice and clean though.

while neat, those seem like cars to be avoided like the plague. unobtanium parts.

Transmissions and stuff like that can be hard to find, but mine didn't miss a beat and I drove it hard for like 50,000 miles. Not sure why they need to be avoided like the plague.

the unavailable transmissions are mainly what I had in mind.

they are fun little cars to beat on, though.

it isn't the transmission that is the case it is the transfer box that fails on them and they are IMPOSSIBLE to find a reliable good one. they failed because from what i have read no one replaced the fluid in them as it is a separate system from the transmission itself. couple that with distributors that have advance weights that rub through the outer casing. and the brake system that requires you to disassemble the entire front suspension to change the rotors (the disks are behind the spindles...)

don't buy one... please just don't

I'll bet he'd sell it for $2500. Maybe a little more, not sure. It need a clutch or the clutch adjusted or something. The clutch in it has less than 10,000 miles on it, verified by receipts but it slips. And the body of the car was professionally leaded and restored by Ford motor company to display in their museum, but some rust has reemerged; and one of the A-arms was rusty but he might have changed that.

If someone is looking for a cool old project truck, this is it. I wish I could pick it up myself.
