Looks like the Prodrive team will still keep racing as a private team, though
MINI and Ford both exited, Prodrive is going to keep driving those tanks they call countryman, there's a few teams doing similar setups with fiestas and rumors have it we might see subaru and VW next year. I honestly think we need the core companies involved with Group B back in the WRC.
My favorite part of Mini's current rally stint was when they had their official WRC launch at Sardinia last year and VW completely rained on their parade with the surprise announcement of their return to rally on the same day. All attention on VW. Cocky bastards.
Similar to Prodrive and the Mini's, M-sport will still be racing Fiesta's with some support from Ford.
Unfortunately the Group B days are long gone and If you don't make a 1.6L inline-4 econobox, I doesn't make sense to get back into rally as a factory team. Lucky for us, lots of manufacturers make econoboxes so WRC will stick around. The new cars are actually faster and safer than group B, not nearly as fun to watch though.
