Any interest in the white MK3 GTI? Bought it for a winter beater a couple months ago and have only driven a couple weeks, had the brake pads replaced, rear rotors, one of the rear calipers, rear wheel bearings replaced . . . but the brakes started grinding the week after and I dont have the time to deal with it. When in reverse it clicks, even when the clutch is disengaged so im pretty sure its the CV axles need replacement as well. I have a pair of new CV axles included in the sale/trade, and and also new front rotors included, both in box not installed. Would be looking for around $2500 with the new parts and the roof rack. It has 125k on the odometer. Title in hand.

There is a small amount of rust, no holes I dont think. Also some surface dings. Definitely not a show car, I bought it for a DD. Not interested in the MK2 at the moment. Only interest in trades are for DD's that I wouldnt feel bad about driving in the winter. mk1 not for sale lol. I just drove it around the neighborhood this weekend and the brakes werent grinding, so im not sure if it was just a rock or something in there?

Pretty sure your reverse gear is going out. Happens to many O20 when they either run low on fluid or the driver doesn't stop completely before changing directions.

Stage 1: clicking in reverse
Stage 2: reverse gear pops out
Stage 3: have to hold it in reverse real tight
Stage 4: no reverse at all.

I was thinking that could be the case, but why would the clicking still happen when you press in the clutch pedal and roll backwards even when your not in reverse?
