Current Member, Different Car... B5 A4 Avant 2.8QMT

Hey everyone,

Most of you know, I got yet another different car. For those of you who don't know, I bought a 2001 Audi Avant 2.8 5MT with the Sport Package and lots of other options on Wednesday last week. This has been maybe my favorite so far out of all the cars I have owned over the past few years. I really am enjoying the car. It feels solid, safe and is super fun to drive. The blue interior with the light cream leather seats is super cool and feels really sporty when in the drivers seat. Anyways, I've really been enjoying it and thought I should introduce it here..

I already got a different set of wheels for it. They are older AMG wheels and need some slight adjustments to work... but I think they will look great once they are on. They are staggered, but do have the same diameter (2mm difference). Ill picture them below.

I debadged the car yesterday. I removed the fake "s-line" badges from the sides below the side blinkers and I removed the dealer emblem, A4 badge and 2.8 badge. The A4 Badge and 2.8 badge were tough to remove.. I had to work really hard to get that 11 year old sticky tape off the car..

Getting the rear brakes done today, and a pleasant surprise, bilstein shocks on all four corners. No wonder this thing rides so awesome!!

Got the wheels back from being drilled out today. Tried to mount them, but my lugs are too short. Need an extended set. Driving down to MSP tomorrow to get some and put the amg's on.

So, since they are Mercedes wheels, do I keep the center caps on or go with no center caps? Hopefully they work out.

Just rock the center caps. You might be able to find some AMG ones the same diameter if you don't want to run the MB ones.

The amg's are finally on. Little poke in the back, flush in the front. Drove em about 5 miles and they seem fine.

Are we SURE these are okay to run? Specs are
225/45/17 17x7.5 37 offset fronts
255/40/17 17x8.5 30 offset rears

Rolling diameter is 2mm difference according to the wheel calculator.

Significant face lift for my car, But I just want to be sure its all good before I drive them 120 miles home...re

In North Branch now... Smooth sailing. Smooth ride. A little noise.. I think from being a lower profile tire is all. So, so far so good. Pics when I get home.

Needs less HDR though.

Right after I got them put on.. no center caps.

When I got home I tried the center caps from the wheels that came with the car... they fit, so i'll just leave em in there for now.



Out by the lake, didnt realize some wierd effect was on, but whatever...





so, there it is. THe front suspension needs to go lower. I think the rear is fine.
