Default Wanted: Most thorough interior detail in town

    Hey guys,

I bought a car back in January that had previously been smoked in and I'm done with just hoping it'll air out. If anything, the smell of the interior has gotten worse as the guy that mounted my tires had BBO.

Anyways.. this car needs a very thorough interior detail. As in shampoo'd carpets, steam-cleaned seats, scrubbed-down panels, etc.. I won't say cost is no object, but I certainly don't want to have this done more than once. Where is the best place to go? Looking for recommendations from people that have actually experienced said person's work.

    Thanks!

Good luck!! It's a ton of work to get the smell out BUT someone good can do it no problem. The person who did my car in high school retired, and is way out of the way for you. Joey's Mobile Detailing has lot's of excellent reviews!

I can't recommend a detailer but I can recommend a method you should look for. My friend's mom smokes but has traded in several cars after 2 or more years smoking in them. My friend goes over not just the seats with a steam wand but also the headliner. He's commented that the majority of the smell seems to come from the headliner and when he steam cleans it this black concentrated evil pours out. Other than steam cleaning the headliner and seats he always flushes the vents with a cleaning/deodorizing spray.

Joey has done A LOT of cars on here and is a euro guy himself. On top of doing amazing work he is really easy to work with and an all around standup individual. I would have a very very hard time recommending anyone else, ever...

Bump. No other suggestions? Nothing against Joey, just would like to hear from some people with real, first-hand experience with a couple different places if possible.

After you clean, rent an ozone generator. Higher end dealerships often have them for use on trade ins. I had a friend that detailed and he swore by it. Googlefu to see how it works.

I like Sterling who I believe is still located at J&B Eurotech up in New Brighton.

Sterling is the company name - they rent space from J&B

Ozone machines work wonders! Thats what we used at Burnsville VW back in the day detailing. I also recommend Jb flawlessautosports in Savage.
