Mk4 alarm issues

Hey all, I only have one key fob for my 2000 VW golf and unfortunately it broke.. I think it might have gotten wet (tried new batteries and still didn't work). As luck would have it, both the lock cores in the door and trunk are broken... So i'm wondering If i have a cop or tow truck driver open the car is the alarm going to go off, and if so can i reset the alarm to drive the car to a VW dealer to get a new key programmed? I am just trying to save a little bit of money by avoiding a tow truck fee since the fob will cost an arm and a leg. Just wondering if anyone has any experience with this. Thank you!

Once you put the key in the ignition and turn it on the alarm should turn off I think.
