Default Oh Previa, you are the best...

So, many of you know my fondness for the Toyota Previa. What is not to love? All wheel drive, supercharged, kind of mid engined, 20mpg for the trip out west and back at 70-80mph. Plenty of room for 2 sleeping pads and bikes for overnights. Bulletproof driveline. Seating for 7. I also love how the trans does not want to kick it down out of overdrive in the hills; it is like it is saying "I think I can I think I can" and then it hauls up that hill.

Only bummers for the trip out to Wyoming were: No AC so the van and its greenhouse effect combined with sitting on the engine makes for a sauna-like experience.

Cool story brah? Big time. Get one if you want something that will not let you down and get you looks EVERYWHERE you go. I swear the motorcyclists were going to go off road with their head turning on the interstate...

I love All-Trac Toyotas. My wife does not understand the fascination or my desire to own one, but I think it stems from the 1989 Corolla All-Trac wagon I had growing up. The little POS was super great fun. Excellent winder car, and very utilitarian. Previas are another odd car that I'd love to have. Its too bad the S/C version was never available with a manual trans, although an auto really does suit it just fine, being a minivan and all.

Manual trans, no rust! Obviously not a S/C or All-Trac, but still, neato!

It's probably because they were concerned about the driver taking one hand off the wheel with all that power available to them. Same problem with Mercs.

160 blistering HP! But, then again, we are talking about Toyota drivers, many of which seem to drive along at all hours of the day with their high beams permanently on.

Someone needs to convince Bryce to get an AWD Previa instead of a Suburban.

Needs a westy camper top built in. It's a good candidate for a post apocolypse type of vehicle.

Another PRO for the Previa if anyone is making a list:
    - Remote 2 quart oil reservoir. Previa controlled; senses low oil levels, drip drip drip into the 2.4L beast up to full.

    Bueno!!

    Bump. Shit's awesome.

(My old daily driver. After a three year stint in a Cummins dually, I'm back in the AWD Toyota saddle again with an EFFFJAY Cruiser.)

If our old '89 Corolla Alltrac had that it would have been nice. That car would randomly have a quart or two of oil go missing. It never seemed to burn oil, it certainly didn't leak oil...and the missing oil didn't ever seem to be consistent.

Must be some sort of Toyota thing, just to keep you on your toes!

interesting vans they are, but 20mpg for a road trip is nothing to brag about... I got 24mpg in a Lincoln Towncar running a 5.0.
Nobody sits like this rock sits. You rock, rock. The rock just sits and is. You show us how to just sit here and that's what we need.
