    Default A4 UltraMeow

Ok so I am finally back into a euro after neglecting my POS 97 Jetta for so long I basically gave it away. Well I picked up a 2004 Dolphin Gray A4 UltraSport Quattro 1.8t 6mt, that I found down in chicago. I flew down there last saturday to check it out and I ended up buying it and driving it back that night. I had forgotten about all of the tolls on I-90 and had to blow through the I-Pass lane like 4 times so I should be getting a bill in the mail here if they happen to get a picture of my temporary plate as it was flapping in the wind.

I have always been partial to the b6 a4 as I had always thought they looked boring until I found the Ultrasport and when I found this one I somewhat fell in love.

Anyways I dont really know what else to write so on to some pics.

First things first. I need to get this little bit of dent action going on fixed. I talked to a paintless dent removal place and it looks like it will be no problem now I just have to find time to bring it in!

When I got the car home I tossed in a Green AudiUp snub mount and got rid of the tattered foam one that was in there. Honestly I didnt think it was going to do jack shit but it feels as if it idles ridiculously smooth now.

I also got out my laptop and dug my old VAG-COM cord out of a box it has been sitting in for a few years and attempted to do a little coding. First of all my cord would not fit in the port on the Audi as it was too big to fit in the slot, so I took a hammer to it and busted the casing off of my cord and it fits in there now granted it looks a little janky since its basically a chip hanging off the the cord. I fired the laptop up and the cord worked great!

    What I did with VAG-COM:
    - One touch lock/unlock
    - Disabled seat belt chime
    - Changed Xenon headlights to "Rest of World" setting so that when I flip my brights on my low beams and fogs stay on
    - Remote windows
    - DRL fogs

Things I plan on doing in the near future:
    - Magnaflow 16601
    - K&N
    - Figure out if I want a high flow cat or a test pipe
    - Figure out the differences and then what tune/chip I want + green giant injectors
    - or if I just want to save the cash and go frankenturbo in the spring
    - Swap out all interior lights with LED's

Ok, I was at work today and when I went to leave I turned my key to the on position and my fuel pump sounded like it was pumping bolts... So I turned the car on and I could hear the fuel pump still making that noise... I decided I would let the car run for a bit before I just take off and have it die on 94. Well low and behold the fuel pump shat out after about 5 minutes of idling. I didnt expect to have the fuel pump toast out at 90k...

So I called up Carousel Audi and they had the pump in stock so I ran over in the work truck and picked it up along with a new gasket. I went to replace the pump in the parking spot I was in at work and started to change it. well I got to the point where I needed to turn the lower part of the pump counter clockwise to unlock it and the bracket piece just broke... Well I started to get super pissed and I could not get the bracket to turn at all but I was able to pull the pump out. The bracket that turns and locks in the tank stayed in the tank and I took the locking bracket off of the new pump and dropped the pump in until it clicked into the bracket. I was a little relieved when I got that in but then getting the gasket back on was a whole different ball game. I finally got it on and got the top cover back on and got everything hooked back up and locked in. I primed it a couple times with the key and it fired right up.

I drove it home with no problems.

Does anyone happen to have the Audi tool for turning and unlocking the fuel pump to pull it out? I would really like to pull the fuel pump again and put the new locking bracket on and make sure that the pump is correctly seated in its housing.

The tool I need is Audi Tool#3307

well welcome to the DG B6 club! theres is no club but welcome anyway! testpipe on stock engine makes a huge difference, rai makes one with a j pipe thing for the second o2 sensor so no cel. if you want the green giants, a frankenturbo paired with motoza software will yield around 220 at the wheels. i have the frankenturbo with the Audi TT injectors, shouldve gone with the green giants instead cause they're cheaper and more power. car looks awesome, have fun with it!

Might as well be a DG club, there's enough of us around now!
If I had to do it over again I would go with a Frankenturbo.

I spent a ton of time in Chicago with my old job and missed my share of tolls. Check out the link below.

Hmm, I think I know the people you bought that from. Did they have a Golf R and a Miata or Infiniti racecar?

Is this the test pipe that your talking about:

It looks damn nice and it looks like a lot of people like them. Would this just bolt right up to my stock exhaust system? I would assume so but this is my first turbo car and I guess I am new to the ropes. Also would I have any issues running a 3" test pipe mated to the stock exhaust, or even the Magnaflow 16601 which I believe is 2.5"?

I have the 034 pipe on my otherwise stock exhaust. Fair gains, would wrap the pipe before install next time... CEL for cat can be turned off with a flash

A friend has custom 1 peice test/downpipe, not a bad way to go also.

yep i have it on my all stock exhaust right now. planning to go 2.5" downpipe in the future. i say go for it! youll notice a slight gain in mpg also on top of the performance gain.
