    Default Will these fit

Ok, so I have some 17" Audi wheels, with some 225/45 17R tires on them. I'm wondering if they'll work on my MK6 GTI for winter. Now, after talking with Discount tire, they claim the brakes are too big for the wheels to fit. I'm not really sure about this, as the MKV and MK6 seem to have the same brakes and the MK5's run 17" all the time. Below are the two different sizes, please let me know your thoughts.

    Here's the two different sizes.

    Audi wheel - 7.5 Jx17 ET 45

    Gti wheel - 7.5 Jx18 ET 51

    Basically it’s a 6mm difference.

    Thank you,

    Matt

Why don't you jack the car up and see for yourself?

I would, if I had a jack. If someone wants to assist me, it would be much appreciated.

If you go to C&C this Saturday I'll bring my jack and stands (Although my jack is shitty and the stock scissor jack will probably be easier)

So much fuss over 6mm...take a ruler to your *probably factory height* wheels/tires and imagine them sticking out 6mm further...does it seem like they will rub? As aforementioned, they will not, so you're all good brothren.
