Pre show car wash and movie night at SCI! Friday night before the show.

Hey all,

If it's show time then it's car wash time. This is not just for the local guys but any of you guys driving in from out state too. Once you get into town swing by the shop for free pizza and nice friendly place to wash your car and clean the bugs off. Once it is cleaned up grab a seat and watch a movie on our custom 30-35 foot screen!

The car wash will be like in years past. Starting at 5pm the back of the shop will be open for all to use. Bucket, hoses and detailing products from Meguiar's will be available to help detail your cars.


Once the car wash wraps up we will roll out the digital projector. The movie is projected onto the 7-8 story grain elevators behind the shop. The image is at least 30-35feet tall. Those that attended last year know the image was awesome but the sound was hard to hear at first. This year I have picked up some wireless speakers and if the plan works out we may have a small FM signal to use for in car viewing of the movie.

Last year a bunch of you brought your own chairs and or blankets to sit on. That worked out well, so bring what need to be comfortable.

Also we need to figure out what movie to watch. I have a few idea's but would like some input.

Thoughts so far.

1. Grand prix
2. Lemans
3. Fast Five
4. Initial D (the live action film from Japan). <Personal choice


Throw up your ideas and we'll see what we can make work.

I will be there!

I vote for Fast Five or Initial D (even though I was sorely disappointed in the live action film). Another thought for a possible movie choice, "Gone in 60 Seconds", still one of my favorites.

You might also consider Gumball Rally. It's superb.

Also, don't know who the anticipated audience will be but Death Race 2000 is also fantastic.

They both are full of laughs and because they aren't serious they don't have the draw back of sucking like the majority of car movies that try to be serious.

EDIT: And let's not forget the cult classic Corvette Summer. As car enthusiasts I think we can all relate to Mark Hamill's pain.

Or you could go high class with American Graffiti.
