That's awesome news to hear. I wanted something with full air suspension for off and on road ability, so that has narrowed my search down a ton. Also, I wanted something that can pull a flat-bed car trailer, so it had to be a decent sized SUV. And lastly, it needed to be full-time AWD. That basically set it down to only a few options after that. I'm not looking to spend dumb-money either, so it's been narrowed down to a Touareg, RR, or LR3. I like the Touareg, but they really don't have that much room, they just look big. The Range Rover has always been great, but they are a decent coin more than the LR3 and you have trade-offs for comfort and on-road comfort. I'm thinking I will like the utilitarian feel of the LR3 as it's going to be mostly for the kids and hauling stuff, so it would make more sense than the RR as well. It's nice to hear your opinions on the LR3 though!

Our family vehicle is also an LR3 and again, beyond normal maintenance items, we haven't had any issues. I love the looks, the practicality of 7 seats (all of which fold flat), it's quiet, comfortable and well made. Top marks all around.

GLWS, I wish we had gotten a white one

Couldn't agree more. The white is very classy and beautiful.

I've looked at the Touaregs a decent amount lately and they just don't catch my eye like the LR3 does. Also, the lack of room they really have is rather a downfall for me as I have a 4 year old and a 6 month old and the wife to haul around. Without a doubt the LR3 has the better suspension and chassis than the Touareg. The Touareg has a well-made interior, but it's doesn't have quite the classy-ness/utilitarian build of the Range Rover and LR3. The only place I think the Touareg beats either of them is brakes and engine as the 4.2 V8 produces a bit more power and it has 6 piston front and 4 piston rear Brembos. Without a doubt though the Range Rover and LR3 are better off-road with the Touareg being a bit better on-road. I haven't driven the LR3 yet, but I have a feeling it's going to be pretty comfortable on-road as well.

EDIT: Also, another note on the Touareg. For those of you wanting the V10 TDI, it is a great motor and all, but it is still a pump-duse motor and for those of you that know anything about the pump-duse in the Jetta, Golf, and Passat it has quite a few downsides. Also, the V10 is incredibly intricate, so most likely if something does break it's going to be incredibly expensive to fix. It's not a very DIY-friendly engine as pretty much any accessory item that needs to be remove has to have the engine dropped. Even worse is when it was re-released in 2006 (IIRC) they installed a ton of emissions equipment to make it so it could even exist over here.

Reminds me how much I hate craigslist. I think it too an hour for the first scam email offer.

    Navigation.

The HSE comes fully optioned from the factory.

I've never been a fan of factory navigation systems, and the Land Rover ones seemed to have a lot of bad reviews on their reliability. Coupled with the fact that update DVD's are expensive, and I can't move the system from car to car, I prefer my TomTom.

    Ours has:

    4.4L V8 300hp/315tq

    Lighting package

6-disc Harmon Kardon stereo with bluetooth phone integration

Cold weather package - heated front and 2nd row seats, heater mirrors, and heated windshield. Yes, the windshield itself is heated. There are tiny elements running through the whole thing. Barely visible, they can melt a sheet of ice cleanly off the windshield in just a few minutes. No scraping!

    Backup sensors

Rear heat and air with separate controls.

Third row seat - Big selling point for us. It folds completely flat when stowed, and offers the same amount of leg and head room as the second row when deployed.

Tow Package - All LR3's come provisioned with wiring for towing. The receiver itself mounts up into the rear bumper and is quickly installed/removed. The receiver itself is all you need to buy to tow, and is a ~$500 accessory.

An HSE comes with all of these standard, along with the V8, minus the tow receiver.

Sale pending the buyer gets his financing.

Easiest sale ever. Dude walked up, looked it over, took it for a drive, looked around the inside, asked a few questions, and offered me asking price.

Almost had me thinking it was too good to be true so I took a small cash deposit that is 50% refundable. ::fingers crossed::
