Yeah, it has a nice effect on wood and iron.
I saw a table made that had raw wood and iron with a coat of it and it looked awesome.

wd40 also works if you wipe it on with a rag.

I'm not sure of the duribility or re-application. Although if the surface is warm when applied and it is worked in well, and then you avoid detergents... I bet it works for a good long while.
I think that chopped up and stanced 5 series used diesel oil on its 'patina'.
Got all 8 pillars/roof pieces in place and the outsides welded. Only about 95% more welding to do. Ooof.

I am going to leave the hitch on it, so I could totally do that. I was thinking about it last night. I have a spare MKIV Jetta wagon shell sitting around. Kind of a bit big though. If anyone has a junk/spare shell around, let me know. Perhaps a junky beetle or MKI Golf. Turn the hood/engine bay into a grill, leave the rest for regular storage.

last one wouldnt be that hard to make, some old boards axle wheels other stuff, good
I have already made my own trailer from old lumber, scrap steel, and wheels/bearings from my last Jetta wagon project. I know 100% for sure I could build one, that is the easy part. It isn't pretty, but it gets the job done just fine. It is roughly 6'x11.5'

Thanks! The best part is that it is nearly all recycled stuff. I had to buy a beam for the axle, roughly 10' of new steel stock, lights/wiring and the actual hitch itself. Other than that, it was all previously used stuff. I think the total cost was around $200. I've already used it for over 5000 miles, and it works great.
