    Default My new diesel

Since this is the new diesel thread I figured I'd post some pics of my new diesel pickup. I got it right before the last big snow storm we had. Anyway it's 2004.5 LLY Chevy silverado 2500HD 6.6 duramax. I looked forever for a truck and this tuned out to be exactly what I wanted every option available and the only color I wanted.

So far it has an AFE blade runner turbo inlet pipe, K&N filter, and a magnaflow 4 inch catless exhaust from the turbo back with a 6 inch tip. Also it's leveled on 33's.

I plan on possibly building the trans and will be doing EFI live custom mapping by Idaho Rob.

Looks nice! I think that is the best looking front end on recent Silverados.

These are nice trucks. I have a friend who has one with just a programmer on it and it really goes.

I need to get something, they say not to go 90hp over the factory tune or you'll slip the 4-5 clutches

I was never partial to any of them I just new I didn't want an LB7 motor. But after looking at so many I did kinda like the look of the older GMC front ends with the LB7 motor. Now I think I like the look of mine the best. But that new front end on the 2011+ GMC's ooooooohh boy that fuckers nice. My next truck will be a blue crew cab 2011+ GMC with a duramax or that new Denali HD.

Yeah I drove a couple duramax's with programmers and it turns them into animals. I drove one with meth and EFI live and holy shit. I thought for sure I'd get arrested after test driving it. I forgot how much smoke was pouring out when I hammered it.

Also pretty neat the truck has a high idle mode you can switch to for when it's cold. So I just start it up and after like 20 seconds it revs to 1200rpm and it sounds like a jet I love it. I made a video of it this winter, here's the link.

That's exactly what I need to replace my Suburban. Hopefully, I'll get one next summer.

Have you had any injector trouble? My boss has a Duramax that he uses to pull his horse trailer, said hes had 3 catastrophic failures related to injectors.
