This is just an idea.. I no longer have a Euro, or even a car. (Two SuV's) but I just picked up an inexpensive polisher (good ol harbor freight) to wetsand and buff the headlights on wy wifes jeep. (turned out pretty good if I don't say so myself, though I am going to redo them as I hand wetsanded)
Anyways, it would be fun to put something together where one of the "experienced" detailers would teach others (like me) how to properly use a buffer, and could also give tips on other detailing tips. I detailed cars for a few years, but never got into the buffing (didn't trust myself)
I will be closing on a house in Champlin at the end of May, and would be happy to host it. (in a development and only a 2 car garage, with room for about 4 cars in the driveway, but plenty of safe street parking) I could set my DJ gear up for people to play with, get lots of beer, and grill out.
Or if somebody else has better ideas where we could hang out for an afternoon, and get buff (pun intended) I think it would help a lot of people getting hands on experience rather than trying to read the DIY's on here and other forums, and the experienced guys could be teachers.
(yes I know we have had carwash days etc in the past, but I think having this be more of just a training thing would be cool)
