Default Wait... i don't think these are BBS's. HELP

i dont know how this has eluded me for so long, but after close examination, i have no reason to believe these are BBS Mahle wheels. I purchased a set of 13" BMW wheels off a buddy last summer, but had issues finding small tires, i found another set of "BBS Mahle" wheels off a guy from EW with the tires i wanted, so i picked up the set. they were in slightly better condition, so i decided to refinish them.. after close examination, i noticed they are NOT the same

BBS wheels had the BMW logo, flat center bore opening, slightly different pattern, and more of a step down lip

wheels i have have no logos on the outside or inside, a raised center bore lip, and flat holes

does anybody know what these are?!

and the issue that is bothering me is the lug bolt holes... where most holes are either conical or ball seated... these appear to be completely flat? what kind of lugs are you supposed to run?

man i wish i would have noticed this BEFORE i spent all the time refinishing them

    BMW BBS's wheels

you need centering lug nuts. They can be a pain to install..especially after painting them.

My Rabbit came with that style lug nut. I had to take the studs out before running OEM wheels. Go to a wheel/tire shop and ask. Tire Proz in Stillwater was helpful in finding extended lugs for me.

But hey, the wheels you redid look great, regardless of the brand.

I think those are called shank or mag shank lugs.

I have seen BBS mahles with this style lip. They are often also called RAs but really they look like some kind of transition with Mahle style lug areas and RA style lips.

Usually they say BBS on them someplace though. Sometimes its on the lip, could it have been machined off.

There were also a ton of copy cats. Some by very reputable manufacturers.

Bottom line is that they look great. I wouldn't worry too much about it.

Neither are BBS. The seconds are copies, and pretty ok ones, visually at least. The first ones, with the "BMW" logo, are made by lemmerz, for bmw, and came on 320's
