Cheese and crackers. $50 for two hoses? Just put everything back to stock. There's no shame in a lowered, otherwise stock daily driver. Especially for a kid your age. Trust me, everything I've tried to "mod" on my Rabbit comes back to bite me in the ass. Sure, do a shift kit and other minor shit but don't mess with the engine if it's working properly.

i wouldn't do a K&N, the oil on the filter can mess up your mass airflow sensor

truth. my passat wagon is bone stock, outside of coilovers and r32 control arm bushings.

yeah kinda figured all this last night, at school though i get so much crap ( which goes back to i shouldnt care what others think kinda thing ) anyways everyone thought my car was like someones Mk4 GLI who used to go to my school, kinda went from there and tried to do minor things now i do realize that it was kinda a waste of time and money... anyways plans now to just go back to stock will leave the intake how it is and try to plumb a new tube for the pcv if i fail then ill go back to stock intake tube. so plans further on... leave the engine mainly stock, here and there a few aftermarket peices, to make the car run overall better. after that mainly the looks of the car will change.
    1. Coilovers / the cup kit was lower then i expected and i realized i wont be able to get outta my driveway without ripping my oil pan off... (steep curb )
    2. Wheels - maybe the 17" ATS's or BBS RA's
    3. change up the lights like ecodes and smoked tails
    4. small audio setup - 2 oldschool kickers in sealed box.

also some of the rust that was fixed before i bought it, you can now see bubbles of it popping through the paint how do i fix it?

ohhh and here is the car everyone thinks mine is... may have seen him idk if he's on here, recommended it to him many times, goes to some meets like campwerks ive seen his car from photos but this car.

    I'm confused.

    1. A cup kit was too low so you want coilovers? Have you ever tried to enter your steeply curbed driveway at an angle? Also it is nearly impossible to rip your oil pan off.
    2. RA's
    3. Say no to smoked tails.
    4. Why kicker?

If you're serious about fixing the rust on your car don't touch a damn thing. Leave it to a professional.

The rust will probably run you almost the cost of the car to fix. Try not to look at it and it's just like it's not there

Like Krinkle said coilovers will go lower than the cup kit. You could get your oil pan armored or sectioned to avoid scrapes. If a cup kit is too low for you, don't even bother buying suspension.

It's a 2.slow. No matter what you do, it'll never get much faster. All you'll do is make it run worse. Leave it stock, keep it maintained. Fresh air filters and regular oil changes are the best thing you can do.
This. Save your paychecks, and once you have a few grand saved up, sell the Jetta and buy a Corrado, Vr6 Jetta/golf, or something else that has some decent bones to start.

damn after work i was driving around with some buddies, and first the engine started to bog, checked the engine. the whole intake fell off... re bolted it on, started to bog and while driving felt as if there was something blocking it from giving it all the power it usually has. then loosend it up drove fine, then starting to bog again... then trying to turn into a parking lot the damn thing stalled and wouldnt start had to push it up a hill and is now sitting in a parking lot, any ideas why this happened? not enough air flow? something plugged?
