    Volt. XC70.

Default So I bought a Volt.

But I was able to get $11,000 off of sticker.

And they gave me $9,500 for my trade in (Saab 9-5). Someone is losing their job over that.

It's like driving an iPad. Everything connects super easily. I can control and monitor multiple vehicle functions via an app on my iPhone and laptop. For instance, if it's cold outside I can remote start it from my laptop or app, so that the car warms up while drawing from the electric outlet vs using the high voltage battery.

I'm really happy with it. I know the people here will hate on it. But I don't care. It works for us.

Nice buy. That car is right up your alley. And if you like it then thats cool.

Now if you go to the Corvette plant (or probably most any GM plant) they will have parking spaces for you that are solar powered to charge your car.

What made you decide on the volt vs. other hybrid cars available?

    Congrats,

I have a secret crush on the volt. And a soft spot for GM in general.

Really well. It's not fast, but it feels quick because of the 275 lb/ft of torque as soon as you press the pedal.

We did no cross shopping with other hybrids. We did cross shopping against 4cyl turbos. In the mix was the new 328 and the upcoming ATS. We also considered the Tiguan and a Passat diesel.

In the end, I really wanted a 328 or the ATS. But I couldn't bring myself to get an automatic in either of those. I use Carley's XC70 fairly regularly, which leaves her stranded as she can't drive stick.

I really liked the Tiguan, but not as my daily driver. And the Passat was cool, on paper. They feel a bit cheap in practice.

In the end, the Volt ended up trickling to the top. Especially since with the deal that I got on it, it was $10k cheaper then the 328i. And the same price as a comparably equipped Tiguan or Passat diesel.

I'm not going full green anytime soon. We still love the XC70, even with it's near SUV mpg. And a motorcycle is just shortly down the road. The Volt just proved to be an interesting purchase and a cool car.

I honestly will welcome anyone to take a spin in it. It's pretty cool.

Go at 530-6pm when the finance guys are looking to leave. They operate quicker because they want to get home.

They gave me private party value for the trade. I was expecting an offer of $6,500. And then would have settled for $7,500. In the end they gave me $8,500. And then $1,000 for the 18's.

I also went to Fridley. The dealer said they'd never had a Saab.

Sorry for all of the quotes/replies.

There are actually some pretty slick 18's and even 19's that fit on the vehicle. And most weigh less then the OEM wheels, so there is some weight savings/efficiencies.

But I want to get a motorcycle before I start pimping a Volt.

I wonder if a lighter wheel will hurt the regenerative braking?
