I am trying to pack to leave for spring break early tomorrow morning. Thanks for being polite.
I hear you on the 10th amendment. Wasn't aware of that but it's quite unsettling.
"How is it even fair that the federal government is choosing what industries to support and prop up? How does that make for a legitmate fair market?"
It's not, and life sucks. Now with the changes to campaign contribution laws it's only getting worse. Government and industry have been in a circle jerk for decades. I personally don't think there's much each of us can do about it because it's just soooooooo ingrained already. That and not enough people care to make a difference.
The fact you were unaware of the tenth amendment means you need to revisit history so you can make better educated decisions about your beliefs. Too much of this is decided on what "feels" right -vs- what the law is.

The price of oil is directly related to the value of the dollar. If you think the value of the dollar is going up and will bring the price of gasoline down anytime soon your an idiot. Meanwhile enjoy your big government that your devaluing the dollar to fund so we can have more seat belt laws and fight wars we do not need to be in. The price of gasoline is a direct indicator of how fucked we really are.
i barely got 5 gallons for 20 bucks yesterday. fuckin gay
LMAO, don't forget to educate people about the Commerce Clause of Article 1 of the Constitution. The one that states that Congress as the authority to "regulate commerce with Foreign Nations, Among the several States, and with the Indian Tribes".
Better educate people on the Taxing and Spending Clause of the same article that states "The Congress shall have Power To lay and collect Taxes, Duties, Imposts and Excises, to pay the Debts and provide for the common Defense and general Welfare of the United States"Originally Posted by Digital K
Its funny how people often ignore parts of the Constitution they don't like and ignore over 200 years of Supreme Court jurisprudence well yelling about how things aren't legal. The fact of the matter is, at no point in any of the founding documents does it state that the Federal Government is to have no interaction with economic centers of society.
Now back to gas prices.

The whole idea of our taxation is that congress would represent the needs of the people. It has been a while since they have done that.
Believe it or not, I did not write the Constitution. I just quoted it. If you are going to stomp around shouting "that's not Constitutional!!!" you don't get to pick what parts of the Constitution need to be payed attention to while ignoring other parts. It also helps to have a general idea about how the Constitution has been interpreted over the course of nearly 2.5 centuries.
//Don't forget that if you want to go straight back to the time when the Constitution was written, only white land owning males would have a say in anything. OMG THE ELITES!!!
Until all the modern countries that have been using the same type of monetary system we have here (ponzi scheme) collapse, the price of gasoline will continue to climb as related to our incomes.
