It's not, and life sucks. Now with the changes to campaign contribution laws it's only getting worse. Government and industry have been in a circle jerk for decades. The thought that the government has no place in industry is not my opinion, its the fact of constitution, which happens to be the law of the land. Its not my "opinion". The Constitution laid out 17 enumerated powers. Why do I feel like I have to constantly educated people on this. The Constitution gave extremely limited power to the federal government. Very little. The 10th amendment states any power not given expressly to the constitution should be left to people or the states. This is so basic that it's mind boggling that it gets ignored. Just because its been bastardized over the years doesn't mean I'm just going to roll over and accept it.

Better educate people on the Taxing and Spending Clause of the same article that states "The Congress shall have Power To lay and collect Taxes, Duties, Imposts and Excises, to pay the Debts and provide for the common Defense and general Welfare of the United States"

The fact of the matter is, at no point in any of the founding documents does it state that the Federal Government is to have no interaction with economic centers of society.
