    Default Eurowerks Member Spotlight: Toasted

This week in the now bi-weekly Eurowerks Member Spotlight, we get to know a guy who has been in the club for quite a while. He's a good photographer and a good guy. Say hello to Chad!

What kind of car(s) do you have? Modifications, future plans?

My current DD is a 2000 Saturn SC2 or a 2007 Subaru Forester. Usually the Saturn. My project is a 1955 Dodge Pickup. The goal for the Dodge is to get it running, get it rolling, and just enjoy it. In the future I will likely get tire of the 95 HP Flathead and put a nice V8 in it.

Any previous cars you'd like to mention?

Previous cars are actually why I am on Eurowerks. I have owned a bunch of VW's. I have a Baja Bug in high school, I had a sweet 1963 Bug painted like Herbie about 10 years ago. Then I first got involved in water-cooled VW's with a MK3 Jetta. Since then I have owned a couple MK4's as well. Most recognizable VW woulf probably have to be the Rave Green Mk4 GTI I had. It was lowered and had Brock B1 wheels on it. Stretched tires and the works.

    1991 Saab 900 Turbo

If you could have just one car, what would it be and why?

I can't pick one car. Here are a few though. 1962 Catalina 421SD, C Class AMG Mercedes, another air cooled Bug (I miss my old one), and for the winter I would like a twin turbo Porsche Cayenne. I probably spelled that wrong.

    What's your real name?

Chad Earl Truss, sounds like a serial killer.

Way back in like 2001 I hosted a contest on Volksport to see who could make the funniest photo of me. I bought the winner dinner at the weekly bowling night I hosted for the club back then. I got the funniest photos turned in. I like this one.

(The_Stig: Slightly edited to be safe for work)

What does your screen name mean, and why did you choose it?

Toasted: That is actually my second screen name on here. I chose it because at the time I was driving a Scion xB, commonly called a toaster.

What kind of job do you have?

I hold the title Project Coordinator, but I spent most of my time designing and retrofitting. I work for an industrial fan company.

Tell us an interesting/funny story about yourself

    I'm not an interesting/funny person.

What other hobbies do you have?

I build scale models, I have a small vintage R/C car collection, and photography. Photography has become more 2nd job than hobby lately though.

How did you first hear about Eurowerks?

I was really good friends with Kris when he created Eurowerks. I was a member right at the beginning. I had a different screen name and took a break from EW for bit, then rejoined. Going back a little further, I originally met most of these guys back about 10 years ago. I hung out at SCI a couple times back when they did monthly VS meets as well.

If you could make a change to Eurowerks, what would it be and why?

I wouldn't change Eurowerks. This is one of the most stable and drama free car forums I have ever been on and it's why I continue to hang out on here even though I don't currently own a European car. I guess the only thing I really want to change is my ability to attend events. I want to be more involved, but I can't right now.

Glad you're still around here man, even though you don't have a European car right now, haha.

Now I really wish I could find the P-shop picture of you I submitted... as a Pokemon. lol

Where's the pic on your facebook that you claim you were drunk when it was taken. You know, the one with you "modeling" in front of a rat rod...

That is no claim. I was drunk the whole day and I wasn't even keeping up with those guys.
