yeah, thats why i have been having ravenworks coordinate everything for me. i would f***ed if i was doing this myself

Sounds like you had the crank polished and used standard bearings.
The bummer of that is that you have to install the bearings in the mains, mic them, then mic the crank journals and find your clearances.
The home method, and mostly foolproof, is to use plastigauge once the crank is installed and the main caps torqued to spec. Either way, once this is done the bearings are considered used and are now pretty much a wasted part. There really is no way to know ahead of time though, unless you mic all the journals before and after, and have all the factory dimensions available.
we actually had to cut the crank a bit but yeah. it has been 5 years since i have built an engine so i am just letting the people who know what they are doing take care of it

bought myself a quick release hub at the swap meet today (thanks paul) and couldn't wait to put it on so i went down to the shop and installed it. the wheel is really close to me now which i like.

parts came, they sent the wrong freeze plugs, does;t really matter since they weren't going in till the crack and head gasket were sorted anyway. also got a set of poly balljoint and tie rod caps, a new front leaf spring, and some steering rack boots (one was torn). the main event though is the new ceramic coated header
it came with another flange attached to some tube so that will help with exhaust costs and the welds look like they had a lot of penetration. I love the way it looks but i am going to wrap it and probably make a heat shield so you won't be able to see it much... i can't wait to hear what it sounds like!!!!

Why can't you order a head gasket until the crank is sorted? That doesn't make any sense if you're using the stock crank and didn't take a ton off the head or block.
i went high comp with my pistons. i may not be describing the reasons properly

ravenworks should be able to know what the clearances are based on the new deck heights, stroke, rod length and piston crowns.

which is why i am just letting them handle it.
