That's good news. What are you going to do instead?

picking the motor up at the end of the week
I almost said a curse word!
today i did something i have wanted to do for a long time. I went up to Ravenworks this morning because while driving back up with the BMW I got a call from steve that the motor was all done.
so today i went up and finally paid off the motor. feels sooooooooo good to say that, it has been a long time and basically everything ended up as a problem. Here's a short list of some of the issues.
- pistons were broken
- because of the broken pistons the cylinders were out of round
- since we had to bore the cylinders out i needed to have custom pistons made
- venolia sent the wrong rings
- rocker arm studs wouldn't come out and i had to find new ones (they are next to impossible to find)
- valve cover wouldn't fit over the roller rockers so the baffles had to be ground out
- had to modify the main bearings since the oiling holes were in a different spot on this ONE particular configuration
- we had to bore the motor out so far the stock headgasket no longer worked so we had to have Cometic make a custom one
- the intake manifolds didn't fit with the thermostat housing i needed to run
The list goes on and on and all i can say is Steve and the guys down at Ravenworks did an amazing job taking care of everything. Even though it took a long time i am so happy with how everything has turned out. The motor is going to run on pump gas (something we thought might not happen because of the pistons) and should be a dream to drive. It is going to be a handful when she is all done.
but enough chit chat time for some pictures...
