Default awd e30 > 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Got a little story for you guys.

I was just leaving work last night at 6:00pm and I get a text from my brother. It says "you still got them tow straps in your bimmer? I got my jeep stuck in the snow, so embarassing" I ask him where he is, he got his brand new 2011 jeep grand cherokee stuck in a snow bank behind his work while testing out his 4wd system. I drive over to his work, and there he is, stuck in a foot of ice and snow, truck is high centered and all 4 wheels are sitting on ice now. I get out, hook up my tow strap to his truck and start pulling. Engine stalls, start it back and pull again, engine stalls again.... too much stuck weight to dead pull. So we give it another go, this time a little lighter on the clutch (dont want to burn up my clutch either) after about 30 seconds his truck is pulled up and out of the 4 big holes his tires made in the snow. We unhook the tow straps and I drive my car into the snow bank and right back out again.

So moral of the story, e30 awd > 2011 Jeep grand cherokee....

Anyone who doubts the e30s towing, his truck weighs 4,850 lbs, nearly 2,000 more than my car does. And I was able to pull him out of snow that high centered his truck with a ground clearance of 11.1 inches.

I had them, my brother did not. I just think its funny that a 23 year old e30 can pull a brand new truck that weighs 2000lbs more than my car out of that deep of snow. I really wish I had my camera so I could of taken a video of it.

My back tires, and my left front were all in the snow bank. rf was the only one on dry.
It was a really big snow bank, took up a good 40 + parking spots

I like how jeep went unibody on the new charokees, even jeep is caving in. In 2 inches of snow I like AWD cars, in 8 inches of snow the truck is the way to go.

My e30 has 10 inchs of clearance right now

I ordered 27 inch mud tires for it, those should raise me up another 1.8 inches (tires that are on there now are 23.4 inches) I also am lifting the car a extra 2 inches to clear the new tires.. so I should be sitting around 14-15 inches of total clearance.

Here is after putting in the 1 inch rear lift, still need to make up 2 more inches

Heres after a little fun down by the river before it flooded over again

And this is when I tried to put 31 inch tires onto it last year

Got alot of clearance. But does it stay planted in the deep snow? You just float over it?
