hmmmmmmmmmmm
iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii get it
Tom will just kindly ask you to not do it a second timeTires, and knowing the car better will be a pretty big help too.
I've seen much less safe things happen at Amery...given none of them involved going off, but I suppose that speak to you doing a good job keeping things "lined up" given the circumstances. Plus you will always be overshadowed by some other people that have done very stupid/thoughtless shit there.
- People going 120+ knowing they had anextremely compromisedfluid pissing brake line and nearly rolling their car in the braking zone.
- People going 40-50mph trying to make the corner at the end of the runway.
- People getting in fights over one knocked over cone.
- People nearly hitting corner workers trying to drift the course...and so on.
What bugged me, (really, really bugged me) was the guy on the radio who was asking what they heck you were doing at a driving event without knowing the limits of your car. What a fuckhead. I asked him if you were supposed to learn the limits on a residential street, or public road or something.
Also, fighter jet.
Thanks, jessop.
I was annoyed by some of the healy dudes that were shaking their heads at me and talking. I didn't endanger anyone. Matt and I had already looked at the runoff area and joked about how tight we were strapped into the harnesses before we took off. I knew I was keeping it pegged THROUGH the finish because we didn't know where they were shooting the speed. I knew where the car was likely to go. Hence, not turning. Fuck it. I am a man and take responsibility for what I do and have fun while doing it. I don't give a fuck, but I am not going to hit a crowd of people standing by their cars.
They said i clocked 128 on the first run. My speedo was at ~130.
They said I clocked 134 on my second run. My speedo was ~155.
The healy dudes don't go off, because they hit 74 mph. AWESOME!
And if they where to go off probably wouldn't of been man enough to go up to the organizer and admit your mistake and acknowledge the fact that you knew you where done for the day. They would have just packed their shit up and gone home.
Agree.
And Tom smiled at me when I walked up and told him and was mostly concerned as to whether or not I damaged my car or if I felt fine. He was cool about it and he is the only other person whose opinion on it matters to me.
It is an outcome of driving fast. If you drive on a track and push hard, experienced or not, there is a risk of that.
It's Tom. You can bet he's had some pretty awesome offs. It happens, that's why he organizes events like this at a fucking airport and not downtown Stillwater. Even mnautox guys wouldn't give a shit. It happens.
so is what is going on with the car mystery time now then?

Nothing really.
No huge changes, just making things better, tweaking, fine tuning. Bracing parts, welding stuff up. Making more power, putting more power to the ground.
Prepping for track days, making sure the car is fun.
I might add some additional fun parts to aid in this.
I have some changes coming, not just on the car. ha
The details and stuff and the little things are what makes all this interesting. Its what I like reading about![]()
