Well, I will likely not get a chance to make the seat back, but at least it is usable now.

It is not that you CAN'T, it is that you don't know how..... YET

That looks neat! Nice wood work!

On a side note, I'm a bit disappointed in the editors/moderators over at the H.A.M.B. Forums. They locked up a solid thread that has been going for 5 years because it was "off topic". Lots and lots of good info and pictures that are going to be lost there. Maybe Chad can find a way to archive it on his 'My Cool Daddy' site.

Wow, I'm glad I didn't try to build a wagon. I'd be blown out of the water by you guys.

    Good work!

It is heavy. I mean, probably close to 75lbs... maybe more. And it has a very car-like turning radius, probably 15ft...maybe more.

I pulled it around for 4.5 hours in the rain and I was not tired or sore. Everything opperates so smoothly that it really was now trouble at all. Going up hill is a little bit of work, but it isn't so bad. I was amazed at how well it did on uneven ground and broken concrete... it just seemed to glide along without any issue. It went up and down crubs really well. Plus it was pretty awesome hearing all of the comments - I mean there was probably a comment I overheard about every 1 or 2 minutes, the entire day. And I had at least 20 people come and talk to me directly about it.

And the biggest thing - Not a single loose bolt or broken weld.

I think the biggest things I would like to improve over the next winter are better turning radius and add brakes. I am thinking about redoing a lot of the front end and making a true double wishbone suspension and adding bicycle disc brakes to the front wheels. One of the biggest problems was it wants to roll, so any time we stopped I had to pretty much chock the wheels... brakes would be sweet.

But over all, even though it rained most of the time we were there, I had a blast. It was awesome.

    From the dead!

Been working on another wagon, front end is in prototype stages, mocked up with spacers. The rear end will be lawn tractor tires, some big meaty's with the axle sitting only maybe an inch or two behind the back of the wagon, with another bike shock or two for suspension of course

The turning radius shouldnt be too terrible considering how long it'll be overall. i need to lengthen the shock mount out so the angles are right and make some spacers and plates to take the place of the original wagon's control arm assembly im still partially using.

Once i get the lawn tractor tires on the rear they'll sit outside the tub width-wise. I'm aiming for a stance like an old model-t hot rod. The wooden sides will go back on but will taper down towards the front and stay high in the back like this:

but not so bulky and cheap looking. I also cut a nice piece of cherry for the floor-panel, gotta plane it down a bit more so it's not so thick but once it's cleaned up and fitted it'll look great

Anyone else still working on anything for their kids like this or am I the only one whose still playing around

I'm still building them. Check out my site www.Mycooldaddy.com. I try to post how to stuff and general part locating information.

Your new wagon looks great. Send me some pics at chadsci@yahoo.com for me to use on the My cool daddy site.

I'm still working on building a second wagon for our second Daughter. I've got steel and a few wagons for parts waiting for me. As of right now, it will be very similar to the first, with a few minor additions. It'll have a 'hitch' and a connector bar that I can use to pull one behind the other if I want. I used roll-on bedliner on the inside of the first one, and while it'll last forever, it's got a really rough texture that isn't ideal for kids. I'm testing out different rubberized sprays and such to find something i like.

For a quick soft cover. I have used a fuzzy seat cover stretched over a 1/4inch piece of fiberboard. Works great and you can change it up anytime you want.

a slight redesign of the front yielded much better angles. It can now fully support my weight bouncing on it

need to order up some small needle bearings for the control arms to pivot on yet, the lower pivot (the round lower tube) is actually inset with bearings as well. Trying to get everything in a row for a no-rub steering design. I'd like everything to move nice and freely

thats the lower pivot for the whole front suspension. 3/8" rod through bearings in a 3/4" pipe. Once everything is finalized i'll finish weld and clean up for paint. right now the upper bar keeps the lower arms in place but the rod isnt completely captive until i weld the ends in or come up with a removable but locking solution for this part. Maybe clean up the nuts and drill/tap them for a set-screw or cotter pin.
