Winter wheels for my new 9-5

It drives great. It drives like a much smaller car than it really is, very responsive to steering inputs. The steering feel is great - light, but with good road feel. It centers nicely, has a real solid straight-line track. Gobs of power, of course, 300 hp and 295 ft-lbs. Smooth and fast. Very quiet at freeway speeds.

My old 9-5 has the 2.3 liter turbo four, 230 hp motor. I never thought it as being unrefined, but the contrast between the old Saab motor and the new V6 turbo is just astonishing. Maybe I'm just catching up - I suppose most or all of the high-feature V6's are this smooth these days -- but the V6 turbo is a great motor.

I had the car out on I-35 north of Albert Lea after I picked it up. I thought I was driving 80-85, only to look down at the speedo to discover I was doing 105.

My only real criticism is that it's hard to figure out where the edges of the car are. And it's a big car, so there's less margin for error than you'd like when trying to park it. It does have the parking assist, so it'll beep at you when you get close to something, but I'd rather be able to see the edges of the car if possible. This is a nitpick, though, and it's inherent in the design of most modern cars.

I'm considering tint. The high beltline/smaller greenhouse somewhat limits the driver's vision, though, and I'm a bit reluctant to cut that down further with tint. Not a problem in the daytime, but at night I wonder.

I've had 35% on for several years now, and the only times I wish I didn't have it is when I'm backing up in the country (little or no ambient light).

In the city it's a non issue.

I have dark tint in the back of the WRX, and I agree with what Champ says.

I have 20% on sides and 35% on the back window (Legal limit on back) and had 15% all around on my MDX.

I would say that a rear of 35% can be dark at night but still safe, 15 and 20 on the sides can be reflective at times though.

I have what I assume is 20% all around on my car (state trooper said it let through 23%, so it probably faded a bit). Anyway, if I get pulled over again I'll probably have it removed. It can be a bit dark for spotting things like pedestrians out the side window of the car when there is low ambient combined with headlights coming toward me. I've had both 35% and 50% on cars in the past and it was those were lots more reasonable in the dark, and didn't attract much or any attention from LEOs.
