E30 Chump Car!

Things didn't go well last night. Got the car all put back together with a new tank and rocker arm... but it didn't sound right. Team tried to diagnose it til about 10:30PM, well after all but 1 other team had left the pits for the night. Check out the pic below taken throughout Day 1.

40 cars showed up to race.. the track was packed in the morning but cleared out to around 25 pretty quickly - including us.

Apparently mixing 325i fuel pump and 325e tank is a horrible idea. We were starving the pump and burning it out after just a few laps. We must have pitted 4 times in row with fuel issues before deciding to send a crew back down to the cities to pick up our old 325i tank (and rocker arm..)

What a mess of a weekend! We only got out for about an hour each day. Just problem after problem. I'll add some more later.

Sounds like a good, solid Chump/Lemons experience. I think our team had one race where the car wasn't riddled with issues, and probably 4-5 races that prematurely ended in some sort of failure (at least one of which I wasn't along of the ride).

Yes - just be happy you aren't towing 14 hours 1 way to kill your motor in 45 minutes. Ask us how that feels.

Transmission died after all of that work... It was a rough weekend.
we have a lot of work to do for the next race but I need a mental break...
