    Default Packing List

I don't know how many seasoned campers there are in this bunch, but packing for a trip during this time of year can be tricky for noobs. Granted, it's hardly real camping, but let's start a list of things that are easily forgotten.

I'll start. (I'm also just bored at work and figured this can't hurt)

    Equipment:
    - Chair (sitting on the ground/rocks sucks)
    - Tarp for under your tent
    - Flashlight (insert fleshlight joke here)

Clothing (mid/high 40's are very cold when you're living outside):
    - More layers than you think you'll need (ski socks are great in the morning)
    - Winter hat for the morning/sleeping

    Food/snacks:

whoa Matt slow down with that list before it gets too long...

    - If anyone is using an air mattress, I definitely recommend to put a thicker blanket on the mattress underneath your sleeping bag. You don't have to take my word for it, but I would. Nothing like being cold and putting more blankets over you - only to realize the air mattress is pulling all the heat out from under.

Haha, TP, that's an essential that I likely would've forgotten.

Another handy thing to bring is a station wagon with enough room in back to have an air mattress.

That, and taking Champ's advice about needing some extra blankets if you're up on a tick air mattress. Something like a Thermarest won't have the same issue as a big tick one.

ThermaCell to keep the mosquitos away, if it warms up enough for them.. or just some bug spray.

That's fine, I just don't wanna sleep on the ground next to it. I don't wanna hear it. I don't wanna see it's lights. I don't wanna feel it's warmth when the door is opened.

    That's all.

I keep my clothes in my sleeping bag with me. Keeps them from being cold/damp in the morning.
