I owned it's baby brother for a year or two, never got around to restoring it and had to sell it. Lots of Continental parts binning went on to make the 61-63 Thunderbirds.

ford was really at the top of their game in the 60s. pretty much their entire line up from that generation i really have a soft spot for, pretty much for all the reasons you've just mentioned.

my best friend had a '68 galaxie 500 sedan and i loved that car -- excellent attention to detail and a beautifuly crafted interior. i really wish it would have been in better shape because i would have loved to have seen how beautiful that interior would have been brand new with its semi-metallic blue seats and wool carpets, contrasting perfectly to the subtle and modern stainless steel accents that formed the guage cluster and center console.

someday...i would like to have a big american ford or lincoln in my collection. or i'd even make an exception for an early generation mustang.
