    Default My race bike

So last summer we pitted next to a guy who blew his superbike (superbike = not factory - i.e. tuned/overbore, etc) motor on an older model SV650 and decided to just part it out instead of fixing it. I offered him some cash for the whole thing, with the intention of buying a stock motor to put in it.

And the pics of the whole deal:

The bike was painted a nice blue - but then before it dried the guy decided to put glitter all over it. Even the swingarm.

So now I'm stripping the swingarm:

Engine out, the new engine is in the create behind it:

I have a stock motor waiting to go in, and last night I tore into the blown motor to figure out what's wrong...

    Piston go boom.

    etc.

Ring lands seem to be in tact.

I think it started life as a 2001, maybe a 2000. But it's been a race bike since '02 so the parts on it range from 99-2002 (gen 1).

Doesn't it say right on the VIN tag?

I would imagine he is going off build date . I don't imagine there was a title involved.

I just wanted to see what it looked like put together. It's naked. I saw a pic of one with a full front and it was ok.

Yes it does, but I have yet to actually look at that.

Right on no title, but the date is on the plate on the frame.

This is our other SV race bike, so it will likely look lots like it, except color:

Gotta at least have a belly pan to pass tech, and going down the straight at 130 the fairing is nice
