Default Blew Turbo on 1.8t AWP engine, What are my new turbo options?

I blew the turbo on the engine and I want to replace it with a new turbo since this one was just rebuilt. I am planing on replacing the injectors/fuelpump with new hi flow ones since I need to get a tune anyways. I was thinking a k04 if it would work since I would like to get a little better performance but nothing crazy.

I do not know what turbos would work for it, perferably bolt on. I already have a techtonics downpipe, forge diverter, and ECS 75 valve. I am planning on getting a cold air intake at the same time.

However it was a AWP swap into a 2001 GTI and is still using the 2001 wireharness and 2001 ECU. I can not connect to the computer via a VAG-com so I do not know if I am going to have to replace the ECU with a newer one, and if I would have to fo a new wire harness at the same time.

Just bought the car and am working on making it fun and reliable at the same time.

I put a K04 in mine this summer and am very happy.

    235hp/295tq on 93oct.

    Mods are:
K04, 2.5" turbo back exhaust, cold air intake, 4 bar FPR, Forge DV, clamped MAP, Hallmann Boost Controller, APR K04 software, Forge TIP

not sure about your ECU, but I think the K04 is a very viable option.

I'm looking to upgrade my turbo aswell but I don't want to replace the DP or manifold. I was looking into ATP's eliminator 28rs. I have everything Die Frau has and upgraded SMIC. Looking to have 300whp. Is that a good way to go?

I have a GT2876R turbo if you wanna go big! I am not looking at going quite that nuts. But you could get 300 whp EASY.

Also where should I buy my K04 from?

No injectors. APR jest recomends the 4 bar FPR.

I got my K04 through ECS Tuning. Been very happy and the price was on par.... A lot of others like CTS Turbo.

Yes and yes. It is the same exact housing. Just different compressors.

He is talking the K04, if you want to run my big turbo you would have to do injectors, fuel pump, tune, exhaust, manifold......the whole nine yards to utilize it properly.
