Gotta give a quick review of Sun Control Tinting:

From the beginning, Rob was very polite and answered my questions about a quote for my Saab. He got me a appointment on a Saturday, which they try to limit. The price quoted was a little higher than the cheapest stuff i'd seen around, but i heard good stuff about Sun Control so I used the mentality "Get what you pay for". Showing up for my appointment on time Rob was busy with another customer so i waited a minute till he came up. We got my car in the shop and I left to go eat lunch nearby (Flame Burger on Rice St is actually decent). I came back about 45minutes later and Rob was just finishing up his first customers car (a e90 M3). Once finished he came and appologized for being slow. I wasn't too concerned. I chatted with him a bit as I watched him and another guy apply the film on my car. They have a nice waiting room too that serves its purpose well. Once complete, he brought me back again to give the car a look over. It looked great, with no bubbles or mis-cuts. Perfection takes time, so I had no concern that he spent a little more time to get it perfect than just slap it together to get it done. I got out the door at a good price and was very satisfied with the service. Once the film fully set, I opened the windows and every window line is cut perfectly and matched exactly to the edge. I give the job a 9.5/10. The friendly/helpful service, combined with the great work makes this a place I would recommend to anyone. Check them out for your tint job. Like i said, you get what you pay for, so you may want to stay away from the bargain basement offers.

wanted to give a big thanks to the guys at Further for taking care of my Opel. I was worried i was going to have a hard time finding a place that could tune the carb that wasn't going to bend me over on price but like always Further stepped up to the challenge.

    Thanks guys!

For all the Merc guys here (Or other German rides) Josh Nelson is a great guy.

Is this still current or what?

    Alignments:
    - Jeff the alignment guy- http://www.thealignmentguy.com/page1.htm
    - Auto Edge- http://www.auto-edge.com/Aboutus.htm
    - JB Eurotech- http://www.jbeurotech.com/

Also how much $ (roughly) is it to do all three parts of the alignment these days? I can't remember...

Does anyone have experience with Rivercity Autowerks in Hudson, WI? My daughter recently moved to western Wisconsin and looking for a reliable independent outfit that specializes in Audi/VW. I saw a sign on eastbound 94 between Woodbury and Hudson.

Stay away from Tires Plus in Roseville on Larpenteur and Hamline. I got a rotation there about a month ago and tried to take off my winters today. Couldn't get the lugs off with a 3' breaker bar so I'm heading up there tomorrow to chew someone out. Probably zipped them on with an air gun. I thought Tires Plus could handle something that simple, but apparently not.

none of those shops use torque wrenches to get everything situated. i almost broke one of the lug bolts that NTB impacted on only a day ago, putting on my summer set.

Also, not a big fan of the American tire in plymouth... One of the managers is clueless with his wheel knowledge.

Chad at Bee Line Alignment Services recently did a custom cat-back exhaust for me and I'm really impressed. He brought me into the shop to discuss tip alignment and to show me what he was doing/thinking with the exhaust. Very personable and respectful. It was roughly $200 for a custom made cat-back exhaust for my mk3.

I'd recommended Chad to anyone looking for exhaust work.

Went to IMOLA yesterday to get my GTI tuned to APR Stage 1. I had a great experience with Sam and the other guys. Sam was more than accommodating in answering my emails and got me scheduled for the next day once I decided I wanted to go forward with it. Additionally, I didn't have a ride from my office to the car shop so they came and picked me up. It was done on time and from what I can tell so far, very well. That being said, I havent been able to truly try it out yet bc of the 100 degree temps and 90% humidity.
