Default MN Austin Healy club Afton Alps hill climb

Good times!

This was my first one, and I really enjoyed it. Everyone was really nice and laid back. The variety of cars was pretty amazing too. From a fully caged race car with a 2 stroke saab engine, to a bone stock jetta...

Peectures:

My favorite car of the day:

lol, wat:

240 whp supra engine.

Cone smudge:

Video:

just to give you an idea of the speed, on one run I got about half way into 3rd on the hill, and thats about 70 MPH.

Hopefully they will send out the times and trap speeds today.

I heart MGs, but I can't imagine they got up the hill with any hustle

This looks fun, I might have to try and go to this next year if I have my car in a worthy condition.

You scrub too much speed going through the boxes on the hill!

i still can't believe they cant find a more 'realistic' and in depth road course than that 1/8th hill every year.

no i dont. I just think theres plenty of good roads in mn that are really beautiful, and long. I dont understand why they have to keep using the same tiny road year after year.

It's an established event, and it's not on a public road.

Closing a public highway for a race would be pretty hard for a smallish car club to do.

its not as hard as you'd think to close public roads for events. what you do on it is all a matter of the property around it, busniesses there approving it, and having proper insurance for said event. and the town to approve it I suppose. my guess is it's never been tried seriously.

You should do it then. I'm not sure why you constantly belittle this event. It's fun and it's good people.

its not constantly, its just once a year. If I was more interested in public motorsports and driving around cones I probably would. if YOU want to I'll support your endeavor.
